Hello
My name is Kelsey Hart and I have 10 years of experience in technology - focused in enablement, personalization, data analytics, and responsible AI. I'm most passionate about finding new insights and educating technologists in order to build a more informed, supported, and productive society.
Below I've captured personal lessons from my work. For more detailed information on my experience, download my resume.
About Me.
My work has given me the opportunity to present globally to thousands of engineers, managers, and customers working in a variety of industries. I've written documentation, training, executive communication, and marketing material that has been viewed over 1 billion times, improving employee satisfaction (3% YoY) and increasing engagement with valuable resources including Microsoft Learn (Monthly Active Users up 100% - 10 million). By working directly with customers to understand their goals I've helped to define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), build dashboards and models to measure success, and land new technologies to prove value and expand for multi-million dollar consulting contracts.
Ultimately, I find opportunities that leverage my experience and creativity to experiment and build innovative products and solutions that positively impact businesses and individuals through data analytics and technical education.

I value honesty, ethics, and equity - put into practice through my volunteer work providing career guidance and education to high school students internationally, supporting advocacy groups within the LGBTQIA+ community, and assisting with technical needs in local community programs.

Timeline
2018 - 2023
Program & Product Manager
Microsoft
I was asked to take on responsibility for employee readiness strategy & programs for Microsoft's global Data & AI Consulting organization after leaders recognize my work within employee resource groups. I attended conferences and studying Psychology of AI at Harvard in order to present on ethical AI practices and help create standards for the delivery of AI products. After leading programs for 2 years I went on to traditional product management to build personalization features that informed a world-wide audience of training material, then evolved to building features and new material to enhance the educational experience for all users. So far I've learned:
-
there is rarely a perfect solution, but best efforts can get you pretty far
-
presenting to a room of 5 people can be more daunting than 500 - know your blockers and work to improve
-
take advice from people whose work you admire.
2015-2018
Technical Account Manager
Microsoft
I was hired into Microsoft's Academy for College Hires, a two year intensive training program built around field service roles. I was asked to begin work as a technical account manager, where I learned to:
-
make the most of varying modalities of work (remote, in-person, conferences, trainings, informal and formal meetings)
-
Empathize with customers and find a path to serve their needs while accomplishing key business goals
-
Learn quickly! Fail trying. And ask for help.
2010-2015
Technical Support Manager
Purdue University
As a student I worked 20 hours a week at the IT support desk, and in my final year I joined the staff full time to manage student employees and overall support operations. I learned to:
-
describe complex technical concepts to any audience
-
manage a staff and hold reasonable expectations based on each individuals best-effort
-
take initiative (trying something new often means doing it yourself at first)
-
track and communicate needs to fulfill our departmental requirements and maintain positive relationships with other departments.
